Blockbuster films analysis

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE (2010) The main target audience for this film is girls and women who like romance films, it can also attract men by the sci-fi element of vampires and werewolves. I can follow similar techniques by capturing an audience with such precision. The marketing campaigns are appealing to the audience by the chosen cast and how they are presented e.g. Taylor Lautner (Jacob) shirtless in adverts attracting teenage girls. It made £13.76m in its official UK opening at the box office.

TITANIC (1997) The main target audience for this film is couples or people who like romantic films with realism. I can follow similar techniques by choosing a good cast who can act well, which I think makes the film. The marketing campaigns are engaging to the audience by how startling the image is of the titanic, and the true story of it fascinates people which makes them want to see the film. It made $600,788,188 at the American box office.

PRETTY WOMAN (1990) The main target audience for this film is women of all ages, because it’s most women’s fantasy, to get swept off her feet and rescued by a rich gentlemen. I can follow similar techniques by considering my films plotline carefully so its an amazing fantasy too.The marketing campaigns are attractive to the audience by the chemestry the two main charecters show for each other, it makes you want to watch them. At the box office it made a Worldwide Gross $463,400,000.
