Elevator (Short Film)

Institution Cerebral Productions by Anders Wotzke. The films narrative is very confusing, the main character has a car accident on his way to work with his girlfriend but they’re fine its not serious so they continue to work. They get in a malfunctioning elevator and that’s when the storyline looses its logicality. Then you find out that the car accident was serious and that the rest of the story was his dream. There are four characters the main is called Alex - Edward Gilmore. Alex’s girlfriend Sarah - Briony Kent. And the woman - Tess O’Flaherty, young man - Robbie Greenwell, both had small parts in the film. I think this films target audience would be clever adults who would understand the confusing storyline. The typography used in the film is plain black and white and very simplistic. The genre of this film I think is thriller, but I feel it’s a difficult film to categorize. The sound is mostly naturalistic but with a low creepy music played to reflect, what’s happening in the film. The cinematography used is varied, close ups extreme close ups mainly. They blur the camera in the point of view shots to reflect his disorientation and use fades to make the film seem as confusing as he‘s seeing everything.
